The design of the socks and the ties is inspired by the logos of the Visegrad Group (V4) and the International Visegrad Fund, which were selected from more than 200 ideas entered in the international student graphic design competition in 2005. The winning idea of the V4 capitals on the map was designed by Lucia Kleinederová from the Bratislava-based VŠVU (Academy of Fine Arts and Design) and symbolizes cultural and political cooperation of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
